She cuts an impressive figure on the beach as well as on the tennis court.

Newly crowned US Open champion Serena Williams turned heads on the sand in Miami on Saturday as she enjoyed some well deserved rest and relaxation.

The 32-year-old athlete displayed her muscular form in a black and lime green bikini as she soaked up the sun in the company of actress Eva Longoria.

Eva was at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York last Sunday to see Serena beat Caroline Wozniacki to win her 6th US Open and her 18th Grand Slam title.

As the ladies greeted with an embrace, the 5ft 9in sports star - who kept her head covered with a wide brimmed black sun hat - towered over diminutive Eva who stands at just 5ft 2inch.

The pair sat down next to each other on sun lounges and it appeared that Eva was congratulating her friend as the two high fived.

Alongside Eva was her boyfriend, the Mexican multi millionaire media mogul Jose Antonio Baston.

The Desperate Housewives star, 39, wore a cute, white, off-the-shoulder playsuit covering a white bikini teamed with a fedora hat.

She reclined in the arms of handsome Jose, who she has now been dating for almost a year after meeting him in Mexico City.

Meanwhile there was no sign of Serena's tennis playing sister Venus with whom she has won three Olympic golds.

According to the New York Post's Page Six the siblings are not on good terms with Venus annoyed by Serena's partying and late nights. Reps for both women denied a rift.
