Ant and Dec to host 2015 Brit awards

Ant and Dec will replace James Corden as the new hosts of the Brit Awards.

The hosts of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! and Britain's Got Talent will take to the stage 14 years after they last fronted the show.

Ant and Dec said: "We're really excited to be hosting the Brits again next year - it is undoubtedly the biggest night in the British music calendar."

"We're especially excited now we're number one recording artists ourselves," Ant and Dec joked. "We'll be offering our advice to the fledgling pop stars backstage as to how to have a number one hit, as long as they're prepared to wait 19 years for their records to top the chart like ours did."

When they presented the Brits in 2001, the show pulled in an average audience of 4 million higher than this year's show, which pulled in 4.6 million viewers - the lowest figures since 2006.
Destiny's Child were among the performers at the 2001 Brits when Ant and Dec last hosted the ceremony

The pair achieved their own chart-topping hit last year when Let's Get Ready to Rhumble went to number one, 19 years after they first released it during their pop career as PJ & Duncan.

The 2015 Brit Awards take place on 25 February at the O2 Arena in London, where winners will receive trophies designed by artist Tracey Emin.

Previous incarnations of the Brit statuette have been designed by Sir Peter Blake, Damien Hirst and Dame Vivienne Westwood.

The last time Ant and Dec hosted the Brits, staged at London's Earls Court, Robbie Williams took home three awards and U2 collected two.
