Angelina Jolie has got chicken pox and will miss Unbroken premiere

Angelina Jolie has uploaded a YouTube video saying she has chicken pox and won’t be able to make the Hollywood premiere of her latest film Unbroken.

In the post entitled ‘A message from Universal Pictures about Angelina Jolie’ the actress says she wants to be “open about why she will be missing events in the next few days.”

The World War Two drama is Angelina Jolie’s second directorial effort and is due to be released in UK cinemas on Boxing Day.

Wearing a white vest the actress reveals the small red blisters across her chest, arms and face.

“I will be home itching and missing everyone and I can’t believe it because this film means so much to me,” she says.

She then laughs and says “I just can’t believe it, but such is life, there it is.”
It’s thought her husband Brad Pitt and their children will represent her at the premiere.

The cancellation comes days after leaked emails between Sony Pictures Entertainment co-chair Amy Pascal and Hollywood producer, Scott Rudin, described Angelina as a ‘minimally talented spoiled brat’.

Both have since apologised for their comments.

The 39-year-old looks poorly in the video and signs off saying “Send everyone my love and I hope everything goes well.”

In a statement Universal Pictures said: “We all wish Angelina a speedy recovery and look forward to her returning to her work very soon.

“She is in very good spirits, considering after two years of hard work, she will not be there the night it finally premieres.”

Angelina added “You have to laugh at the timing.”
