August Alsina collapsed and fell off the stage during a performance on Monday in New York.

In a video taken by an Instagram user, the 22-year-old singer appears to pass out while performing at Irving Plaza in Manhattan.

According to TMZ, witnesses said the star was unconscious when security guards moved him backstage after his fall.

In the video, August is seen standing near the front of the stage before suddenly slumping over and falling into the crowd.

Fans crane their heads to catch sight of the commotion as security guards rush to the scene.

Paramedics arrived on the scene to wheel him away on a stretcher, but TMZ is reporting that August was alert enough to wave to fans on his way out. We’re so glad that he was well enough to do that, but we hope he’s OK! The reason for his collapse is unknown at this time.

August has been tearing up the charts ever since the release of his Testimony album in April, which debuted at #2 on the U.S. Billboard 200, and at #1 on the U.S. Top R&B/Hip Hop Billboard chart.

At the BET Awards in June, August won two of the four awards he was nominated for, including the prestigious award for Best New Artist.

He also made headlines this spring when he flipped out on 106 & Park co-host Keshia Chante, 26, for asking about his feud with rapper Trey Songz.
