Two-Finger Examination Required For New Female Police Recruits in Indonesia To Test Their Virginity

Females hoping to join Indonesia's police force are being told they have to endure a humiliating two-finger "virginity test", as part of the interview process.

The test is a requirement to enter the force and is part of inspection guidelines, requiring women to complete an "obstetrics and gynaecology exam". As well as being expected to remain single and not marry until they've been in the police force for several years, Indonesia's police force insists female recruits undergo these degrading – and often incredibly painful – virginity tests, warning women they have to keep their virginity if they want a future in the police force.
